Lock the door, Martha! Peter Matzhold really outdid himself with this one, and he did it with a combination of his signature sphere/arch pairing, and as fine of an example of the ‘new proportionality’ that a fan of the trend could ask for. The bowl is an exemplary brandy that features a restrained forward lilt, and is paired with a Matzholdian D shank of Mr. Olympia proportions. Perhaps most intriguing (at least to me) is Peter’s newer approach to the half-saddle bit, and how amazingly suited it is to this interpretation.

This grain certainly ‘earns its stripes’; the density and regularity of the same is as fine as the coverage is universal… simply outstanding work from one of the most revered carvers in the business. Highly Recommended.
