Like its sandblasted counterpart, the influence behind this piece is clearly the classic prince, and this one, too, leaves tradition behind to explore new territory, but it doesn't stray quite as far from home. The shank is a little thicker than the classic form, more tapered, the bowl more bottom weighted, and the slightly shorter overall length gives it a more chunky appearance while retaining a wonderful sense of balance. The grain is wonderful, the finish beautiful. It would be hard to choose between this and the sandblast version. Maybe the right answer is to get them both...
