Make sure to take out the popcorn before it burns. Burnt popcorn is the worst. So, sometimes the microwave will try to trick you by saying there is 25 seconds left. Do no be fooled! Once the popping slows down, listen carefully, and then cautiously remove the bag. If you open the bag too eagerly you may be greeted with a cloud of steam to the face. Lastly, even after the popcorn is safely in the bowl (be classy, don’t cram your hand in the bag and get butter all over your knuckles) there still may be super hot partially popped kernels at the ready to burn your tongue.
